This month we gave 3 cheers to an integral part of any sporting event, volunteers! From the 19th - 25th of May, we marked National Volunteer Week and celebrated how volunteers play a huge role in connecting people within communities.

It was another exciting and rewarding day in Callala Bay, as a group of local defence community members set sail with Jervis Bay Cruising Yacht Club.
This regular program allows a relaxing space for veterans and family members to learn a new skill and connect with others.

UNSW Canberra have a strong history of supporting the Invictus movement which can be tracked back to the Invictus Games Sydney 2018. In a three-year sponsorship extension, UNSW Canberra reaffirms their dedication to the wellbeing of veterans and their families, whether they are on campus, playing sport or in the community.
Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 alumnus Jamie Smyth is taking on a new challenge: completing the Adelaide City2Bay run in a wheelchair. Through this effort, he aims to raise awareness and funds for our mission to empower veterans and their families through sport—a cause that supported him in his recovery following a service-related knee injury.
